Thank you letter are pretty much taken for granted now a days and people do not realize how much emphasis and meaning they have. Even the simple phone call thank you is a great way to really show meaning and character in a person. To me what thank you letters and calls show is that you are in that person’s thoughts from the time that you spoke your last words to each other to the time that you meet again. It shows that they are not fully self-centered…they are becoming scarce and thats scary.

I don’t think many people realise the significance of sending a thank you letter in this particular age. Written word just does not exist anymore, and the eloquence that people express themselves with is slowly losing ground and becoming extinct. When something as small as a thank you, a basic courtesy, is expressed over something as small as a person spending a few minutes of time talking to a job candidate, it makes you wonder. Terms like ‘thank you’ are hardly uttered anymore but are indeed necessary. Being able to say a small but tasteful thank you is a necessary courtesy that may mean everything — and help you get that job. Take five minutes and show some manners.
