With the newest tools, equipment, knowledge and ideas, the experimental robotic engineer can expect to make significantly less than an industrial engineer, but experiences the rewards of advancing humankind’s understanding of the potential of robotics, and can sometimes contribute significantly to the real-world application of robotics.

Day-to-Day Tasks

On an average day, the robotics engineer can expect many different functions. They could be working on a new design, streamlining an existing design, building a robot’s components, testing a robot’s function, or putting the finishing touches on a completed design.

Tasks require absolute focus, due to the delicate and exceptionally unforgiving nature of robotic. The smallest mistake can cause a catastrophic and often expensive failure of equipment.
