What is a pharmacist work day like?

A pharmacist work day entails the obvious—filling prescriptions—among many other important tasks. Pharmacists also answer questions for patrons, in person and over the phone; provide detailed instructions for customers about the proper use of their medications; check dosings and instructions from doctors for individual patients; and ensure they are familiar with new medications and how they may potentially interact with other drugs. Many pharmacists are also responsible for working their own registers and computer systems, as well as corresponding with insurance companies on a day-to-day basis. It should be noted that working as a pharmacist requires a good deal of standing and walking throughout the day.
