Hey!! That's great news I'm really pleased for you. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, the email address I use for this isn't working at the moment! Did they say why they changed their mind?

Let us know how you're getting on, won't you and the best of luck to you.

Oh, well done! What wonderful news!

I've been following this thread and was quite disappointed when you said you hadn't got the job. What a turnaround, eh? I bet you're totally made up now!

Don't be a stranger, will you?

I have an interview tomorrow for a postman, just reading the thread has helped me out. So I thank you all who have responded to the lad's messages. I`m glad he got the job in the end, a rollercoaster of a thread here! Should be a film.

Anyway,

Just thought I`d say. I will post an account of what transpired for any budding Posties out there that’s in the same boat as me currently.

PS. Sorry for digging up an old thread. Wink

8 of us there, another 5 had interviews yesterday. All for one job apparently. I was the only one suited and booted with a tie, an older man was the same minus the tie. Everyone else either had jeans on/stripey jumper/trainers/white shoes, how dare they turn up to an interview like that! I was embarrased for them.

Got there and completed a basic maths test - 40 questions in 10minutes - examples of actual questions:-

20% of 200
1/4 + 3/4
312 + 664
932 - 122
83 / 3
45 x 4
12hrs 21mins - 8hrs 20mins

Thats as hard as it got, very simple. Then came a sorting test, I`ll describe it as best as I can:-

---------------------------------------
SR3--NE3--DH7--none of these
a-------b-------c-------d------
----------------------------------------

Jack Daniels
4 Silk Rd
SR3 1FF

Billy Mitchell
3 Albert Sq
DH7 9OP

Paul Jones
84 Kross Cres
AS1 5FJ

You then tick which ever postcode matches up with the ones at the top.
94 of them in 10mins.

Interview was great - as said - simply look at the previous questions in this post. I used University and my current job as examples and talked about them alot. The bloke was actually very canny, said it will take a week and I`ll hear by letter. Dont feel overly confident for some reason, I`m not sure why. Shame.

Any questions PM me.

Good luck.
