I would like to start a career in software engineering. However I've got no real relevant work experience (I've managed an IT system for a small business). I've got some qualifications, but none in the language I'd like to specialise in (VB.Net)
Do you think any company may be interested in taking me on, and training me if I say (in a letter, or over phone) something along the lines of:
"Hello, I have (such and such) qualifications, and am looking to specialise in VB.Net. I wondered if you would be willing to train me and then employ me."
...or do you think that is a really bad way to go about it. |
