I recently came to an agreement with my prior employer to "be let go" and resign with the agreement signed that she would not contest unemployment. She has NOT contested, and so I am therefore collecting. I did however question my bonus, as I have worked as the Director of Sales there for 1 1/2 years, never receiving my a bonus for any of the corporate sales that i accomplished or brought into the company. Also, towards the end of my employment there, a new assistant/sales person was hired and the way in which payment went about was not acceptable to me, as I truly have no way of knowing how I was being paid, what I was and WAS NOT being paid for (as I was commission based for the most part), and if she was being fair with paying me for those sales that were mine or partially mine. When I was the sole sales person, I could keep track of this on my own, but with a new person, it was nearly impossible to know, as I worked in membership sales and had no notice of names that joined when I was not there but perhaps assisted and should have been given credit for.

When I asked about the bonus and also my pay, I was told that I did not earn a bonus and I am truly pissed about them not appreciating all that I have done and also not acting fairly with these matters. I didn;t even hear back from my direct boss, but rather got an e-mail back from her husband who assumed her position and persona in an e-mail whom never even stepped foot into the establishment during my 2 years to even shake my hand.

Just curious as to what I may be able to do-At this point, wage and hours, Labor Relations? I do not want to let them off the hook with this and I know that if audited in any way, there will be some glitches!

I appreciate your reply and apologize for my lengthy inquiry.

Sounds like you are out of luck and just need to let it go. I worry that maybe pursuing this could cause you some problems with the prior employer, which could then affect the unemployment you are currently receiving.

There's really no way to substantiate any claims that you should have gotten a bonus, unless you signed something about bonuses when you were hired and you have retained that document, plus have any other supporting documents [ie sales records].
