Wait a bit. The employer will have to cost it, get whatever sort of feedback happens, and probably do some accountancy, if you're talking benefits.
You could also give the wrong impression with a fast follow-up. Not necessarily jumping the gun, but not understanding the processes by which these things get decided.
A week would be a reasonable length of time, assuming they don't use stone tablets. "A week ago" means something in a conversation. It also relates to how they operate.
(As a matter of fact, over a week, you're being tolerant, rather than reasonable.)
Their options are yes/no/negotiate.
Can't be that hard. |

| Thanks for the sound logcial advice - I'll await their reply with interest - I just thought they would call to acknowledege receipt of the letter. In the meantime I have been approached by a rival company - I told them I would accept the job if they could accept my terms - they said they would match the offer. This puts me in a difficult position as both companies are equally attractive... |
