Well, I think you are better off to mention the failed job experiences and what you gathered from them rather than to omit them entirely. This does several things: establish the human component of you and that you are honest [or you would not be admitting your failures] and does relay all of your job experiences. they may be able to pick out something useful, even though you think it is a negative time of your life. You can include them but also you can request that they do not contact your prior employer if it comes to that and you so desire.
