for a year i ran an entertainments company that was in charge of the running of a nightclub, the company has since went into liquidation which won't look good on my CV but thte fact i was running my own copmpany will, what should i do?

List it anyway. You are correct about the job experience being relevant experience. Just because the business failed is not singularly your fault. The economy is bad right now and many businesses are going under, some that have been around for decades. Just try to take what positives you can from the experience and use them to your advantage during an interview and the job search process.

Otherwise, you would be trying to explain an employment gap and that could be difficult.
