I am negotiating with a prospective employer. I do not need the medical or dental coverage at all. What is that worth to me in terms of negotiating more salary?

I would say that you should be able to pull for several more thousand easily in exchange for signing a waiver saying that you do not want medical coverage.

Medical coverage can be a very valuable asset. Be sure you know what you are rescinding before you give it away.

This depends upon the type of policy or policies the employer is offering. You have to do your research here. Example: two companies may both offer Cigna but both policies may be totally different. You need to find what the deductables are, how much is the company contributing, what doctors are participating, what exactly is covered. Some companies offer policies that are worth $6,000 to $7,000 a year, while others contribute much less. Hope this helps you in your decision, cubedrama.com
