I have been listing 06/03-04/04 as the duration of my first job, while HR maintained a record as 07/03-04/04. The reason I list 06/03 is because my work visa starts in the middle of June while employment starts in the beginning of July. If I list 06/03-04/04 on my resume for the employment duration, will it be any problem at all if the potential employer conduct the background check? or will the company consider one month off as material at all? Please help, need your valuable input.

Just curious to why the discrepancy, as I am sure anyone reviewing your work record will wonder the same thing. If you were in the interviewing process or caught up in the hiring process during that time, those days don't count. Sorry. Lying/falsifying makes the possible employer question all of you application if even a small discrepancy is found, so keep that in mind.
