Hi everybody,

I am wondering if there is any tool or website out there which can track who is viewing my resume (sometimes I think companies don't even receive it). It is very frustrating when you send your CV or Cover Letter and you receive no feedback from the company, you don't even know if they have checked it out.

Thanks for your help

Sorry for the delay in reply, particularly in view of your question.

Not ducking the question, but have you had any email problems at all?

I ask because I've seen some weird things from friends in other countries, using the big mail services like Yahoo. Yahoo Australia actually crashed a couple of times recently, and I have a friend in Canada who's had vanishing emails, not even sent by the server, just lost.

The short answer to your question is that there aren't any legal methods of tracking your resume online, unless the employer has a site which registers you with them and you can go in and amend your details, etc.

One thing you can do is ring them and ask. That will at least answer whether they're getting them or not.

The cultural norm is that no reply = no job, so people have got a bit lazy about acknowledgments for applications.

Government jobs are one option for jobs that give responses and feedback. They have to do things by the book, at every level, so you might find that a bit less aggravating.

I think some jobs sites do allow you to know the total number of people who viewed your resume but specifically knowing which company has viewed your resume is a tall order. It depends on the website, some might be offering this feature and some not.
