Hi,
I did look at both links. The first one didn't fit the catagory that i am in. this is not a job resume, it is a scholarship resume. The second link was helpful. It helped me lay out my info.
What about the reference section. Should I put someone's name and phone number?
Thanks |

Excuse my nitpicking here, but you have a few typos, and some bits that need clarification.
This is a very good, strong, resume, and it'd be a shame to mess it up on trivial points.
With titles, you use the full name of the organization, as per its title, with its abbreviated form in brackets immediately after it, then use the abbreviations afterwards. Like University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Having used the title with its abbreviation, you're then OK to use the abbreviation.
A lot of this is purely for appearances, but you need to make it look good.
Education:
George High school Graduate 2005 X School
Junior at San Francisco State University 2008
Alumni winner for Oasis for girls scholarship 2005 X Use title of scholarship as they use it, probably has capitals for title like Oasis For Girls Scholarship.
Alumni winner for the Arab community center 2005 X Same as Oasis, it's a convention with titles.
Honor role for High academic out standing 2005 X outstanding
Experience:
• Interpreter and research assistant in a Health research project with Middle Eastern women in SF tenderloin area(2006) X What's tenderloin? I thought it was a steak?
• Adult Alley in a youth needs assessment project in the south of Market area(2007) X More info required, name of project organization, etc.
• Youth leadership circle member with oasis for girls (2006) X Title, again.
Volunteer:
• AS project connect at SF state university for 1 semester X More info, like what's project connect? Title headings should be Project Connect and San Francisco State University
• SF public library at Kids department for 6 months X More info, name of job, title
• Currently volunteering at UCSF Emergency department for almost 1 year. X More info, give name of job and duties, title.
That's a truly excellent resume, and a lot of work. I'd say anyone looking at that would say you deserved a scholarship. |
