|
|
Hi Guys
Hope someone can help us here.
My husband was fired from his job nine months ago, and because his ex-employer will not give him a reference, he has been unable to get another job.
I am currently working on a MO course, which will hopefully solve some of our financial problems soon, but my husband is sooooo frustrated that no one will employ him.
He worked for the police and it was ridiculous why he was sacked anyway, but don't get me going on that one.
Without a reference he can't even get a job as a Tesco driver, let alone anything really decent.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. |

Does that company use an employee verification service that your husband can provide in the place of a direct reference thru the employer? Often employers will use a verification hotline to verify when an employee worked but the hotline does not give out info about the employee's performance. This might be a help if there is a service like this in place. Another option is omitting this employer completely but most likely it is going to show on a background check anyway, and then problems will surface.

Well, let's see:
You say he worked "for the police". Is that the same as he was a police officer?
And how long was he there? If it was less than a year, I'd omit the thing anyway.
And as for not giving a reference? Do you mean they won't even verify the dates of employment? |
