Hi guys,
I called in today to file for unemployment. Here is my story....
I used some of my PTO time for "personal issues" that my manager was aware of. I had the time available so I used some of it. Back in the middle of April I was called into his office and told that I could not miss anymore days because my territory was not getting covered ( i work in sales).
Fast forward a month later to May 19th. I come down with the flu and had to call out on that Monday. My manager continues to insist that I HAVE to come in and there would be no acceptable reason for me not being there and that he would have to find someone else that could cover the territory. Keep in mind, this was a month after our talk about attendance and I still had plenty of PTO time available.
Having the flu, there was no way I could get in there to work the day. That day, I decided to resign before they fired me.
My question is is there any chance of me winning this case? Ive looked into it and I know a few people that have won unemployment hearings when they quit. Due to the fact that I was pretty much told if I dont come in I dont have a job, do I stand a chance at all????
Thanks guys! |
