I'm 25. I haven't had a job since I was 18 and that was only for a month. I have issues with my appearance and my self esteem. I think I have social anxiety disorder. Eventually I may try to get a job but I have a 7 year employment gap. How could I possibly get somebody to hire me with that kind of a gap?

I strongly doung that the 7 years gap in your work history is the real problem you are dealing with. The cause of the gap is clearly your "disorder" (I hate to call this a disorder...but the truth is that it is) and if you'll get a job, you'll might still be affected by it. Not good. My opinion is that you should first build your self esteem and then consider actually going to interviewes, because I'm thinking some interviewers might get rough and you should first learn how to handle them.
Now...about the gap in employment, there are ways to motivate it successfully...let me find an article right now. Here it is:

But it is far more important for YOU to feel confident.

I 'm well experienced in being lay-off since I begin my career in 2005.My working experiences are mainly about trade and exporting, also including sales. It needs some interpersonal skills and computer skills, and the working time is 9~10 hours a day!!

My age is 26, and I'm from Taiwan. How can I improve my working skill? I just want to stay alive in this competitive society....

I believe I just answered one of your previous posts, stan. After reading this one all I can say and suggest is maybe you should think of taking a job which doesn't require you to spend such a long time working. The computer skills can be achieved via a specvialized course, no problem from there. The interpersonal skills...it's all about the way you see yourself first in order to succees in interrelating effectively. There are a lot of "Build your self esteem" or "How to manage ...." books on the market. I'm not telling you to buy them...I'm just telling you some are useful.
You need a job to make you happy first on the perdsonal side, and then on the professional one.

What did you do those 7 years? Do you still live with your parents?

In today's world there is no need to "go out" to look for work if you honestly can't. If you have regular access to a computer and the internet, working from home or online is a viable option.

Look for job boards, telecommuting jobs, or customer service work which can be done in a virtual method. Check out sites such as oDesk, Craigslist, Get A Freelancer and others for possible jobs or even to possibly find freelance work on your own.

To be honest I think that working from home over the internet is for you.

No offense but not working for 7 years plus having social anxiety problems means that you are going to find it difficult to get conventional employment. Also from your point of view being thrown in at the deep end is always going to be an issue. I would definitely look at working from home then building up your confidence and experience to help you along your career path.

Good luck with all your endeavors
