I'm 19 and I'm starting my second year at university. I want to get a job, preferably a weekend job, but I’m not sure what job to go for. Any tips?

The story here is getting something that will provide a decent level of income and not get in the way.

Because you're studying, you need to be a bit picky. Some jobs are good to have and well worth keeping, but time management is always an issue when you're studying.

One of the quick ways around this situation is to get something in the area in which you're studying. It acts as work experience, too, useful on the CV at entry level, when graduates are trying to look better than each other. It's a distinguishing achievement, at this level. Some paid internships are good short term fixes for this, but if you can find something that goes on longer, and does the same thing as an internship, much better.

Another issue is basic practicality. The job should be easy to manage, no major productions in commuting or hours worked, and deliver a useful income. Put some thought into this, because having to change jobs and messing up the cashflow is a real nuisance.

As a student, don't fall for the usual student traps like sales jobs. Unless you're a natural salesperson, which is about 1/1000 of the population, you'd be wasting time. Same goes for OTE jobs, all commission, and irritating people telling you to do more or sell more.

You have one definite advantage as a student going for work in your chosen field, whatever it is. Professionals in the business or science know the story. They won't mind any study related situations, and can be very helpful in sorting out any problems. Hence the suggestion, because you can have a built in advisory service, and some valuable career track info as well.

Getting Employment now a days is a bit difficult. i searched for many jobs in tens of thousands of employer websites but got waste. I came to know about Hound.com i had a good experience with this site. i got tired of doing less paying jobs and looking for good jobs with a high salary from many days but i couldn't find any jobs. i started searching in the google for jobs in that process i entered into a site called Hound.com. i have sent my resume and all my details for the support. wow what a surprise i got mail within 2 days eventually got many great job options to choose from i selected and choosen the most intrested job. am very happy with this site. many people its scam but they are wrong Hound is not a Scam site Hound Works i am the proof for this because I got a job through Hound and I had a good experience with Hound from many years. I would strongly recommend Hound for all other legal jobs.
Trust these sites not only me many people got employed from this site. Dont look in other sites and waste your valuable time

Legion Of Hell you need to be very picky for the choice of your part time job while you are studying. You need to choose a job which does not cause too much tiredness or stress mentally along with long study hours. Also it should be useful and beneficial for your study related activities.
You need to keep balance schedule for both studies and job.

Hi Legion of Hell,
You need to list out your favorite fields and then match your skills with those field. You should choose a field for job in which you have great interest and you can do that job easily as you are a student and you need enough time and freshness for study. You can also select a field according to your subjects.
