We all may be tempted at a certain moment to start a home-based business so we can earn an income without going to a job and without having any boss to yell at us. There are a lot of great opportunities and there are a lot of people who succeeded with home-based businesses, but unfortunely there are also many scams and cheating schemes out there.

If it sounds too good to be true... than it's not true
It's amazing how many intelligent people fall in some scam traps that present schemes that sound too good to pass-up! I personally don’t trust at all the businesses that offer a lot of income in a short time and with very little effort - if they would be true everyone would do them.

Companies that request upfront payment are generally scam
Of course, there might be and legitimate companies that charge a fee for their start-up package, but for me I don’t trust any company that promise to give you money, but ask money from you in the beginning.

Don't participate in pyramid schemes
Pyramid schemes are illegal in most countries and states.
But let's see first what a pyramid scheme is. There are people who are recruiting other people to join the scheme. You get paid by how many people you bring in the system. Since there are only a limited amount of people from which you know that will join, these schemes helps only a few people make some money, but most of us never receive anything.

Be careful at minimum payment request amount
There are a lot of "business" out there that offer good earning possibilities, but won't pay you until you reach a certain amount - and generally a very high amount that you'll never reach. Try always to find only business opportunities where you care be paid AT LEAST once per month.

And finally... every time you find a business opportunity... make yourself a service and do a search on Google about them and see what other people say... if there are already a lot of people that were cheated by that company don't join the crowd.
