I am scheduled for an interview this Thursday 9Nov with a major IT company in San Antonio TX. I am 45 years old with limited or no experience in the IT field although I have Net+ certfication and a Bachelors degree in Info Sys.
I badly need some interviewing tips. I am a homemaker who wish to return to the workforce. I raised a family and helped take care of my elderly parents who have now passed on and it's time for me to take care of me. I am considered as a candidate for a Desk Support Admin position and hoping to be calm and honest in answering questions. |

| i always have it in the back of my mind that i am competing with young, aggressive, energetic, go-getters, computer geeks half my age. besides, i really need this job and dont want it to get across the interviewer that I am desperate. My biological clock is ticking - career-wise... it sort of scares me that maturity and being responsible are no longer enough for these employers. I just hope that i will be given the chance to prove myself, to pay my dues, so to speak and start from the bottom and work my way up. thanks a lot. |
