Do you believe that you should lye in your resume to get a job?What do you thing about "bending the truth" just so you can make the criterias for the job?What do you think will happen you are caught with resume lying?

If you have to do it, do it in a smart way...and I think this is what you mean by "bending the truth"...or not mentioning it (I'm not lieing to you, I just didn't tell you the truth: think Smile

).
It is desirable that one should not lie in his/her resume, because some employers don't check the employees' background but the majority do that, especially in the European countries...so....sooner or later the truth comes out no matter what...and it's even more difficult to explain the reasons for which you have lied than dealing with the fact that this is who you are but you are willing to IMPROVE yourself.

I don't agree to leing about degrees....you have to be dumb to state that you have a degree in something and you don't have it. It's shamefull when this gets into the light.

Let's say that you choose to lie and you get into a company, have a great team and you get along just fine. How would you think the team would react if they find out you lied about your capabilities?

Sorry, but I think lying and bending the truth are not optional in a resume or a cv.

I am against lieing in a resume. I work in a domain in which resposnability is not 100% but 200% and I'm not talking only about present responsability...but also past. You must have a past educational background and you can't lie about it in no way...not even distort it.
This applies to any domain, not only to health. I've seen some people trying to "bend the truth" but...as expected, they couldn't cope with the requirements of a job and they could not make for the lack of specialized education in the field.

So you are guys are saying that you cannot bend the truth or lie in your resume,cv,etc. no matter the condition you are into.Imagine being a father/mother and not having a single dime to buy a loaf of bread for your child.Thenare you entitled to lie to get a job?

Since I'm not in that situation, it's hard to say. Of course, the situation you present is not common to people who actually use resumes, is it?

Basically, a lie is in fact a CONVENIENT TRUTH, so I guess in the situation Ciprian has stated lieing can be used...."innocent lieing"....
In huighschool I took a personality test to enter a phychology class and the test had a question like this: "you are a desperate husband, have no money, no job, your wife suffers from a terrible disease and she needs some expensive medicines. You work in a drug store. What would you do? Steal the drugs? (she is going to die if she doesn't get the drugs)"...
What do you think of that?

I said I would definitely steal them EVEN IF I know this is not the right thing to do. They explained that the test was a way to measure the level of morality in me.

It is a movie with Denzel Washington that has the same idea about a father who has his child near-death and he has to do something(even illegal) to save him.So I believe the answer to my question is you have to do anything to protect and help your family even if that means lying or stealing and in this case lying in a resume for a job.

just to add, lying, bending the truth should not be done on a CV or Resume to get a job, however l do believe in sometimes excluding small parts of information, that may work against your application for example irrelevent job areas...personal health issues and so on.
