I have about 5 yrs in my current field and I'm looking for a new job within the same field or possibly changing careers. I have used Monster many times and have usually had great luck getting positive responses, but it seems like I haven't gotten any good feedback with the last batch of resumes I have sent out.

I am thinking of having my resume professionally written, but the $175 - $275 quotes I've been receiving are a little more than I had thought they would be. Is it worth the price to have a professional re-write my current resume for me? I've always written my own.

Any advice would be helpful. TIA.

I'm really not trying to give you an answer...a straight one I mean cause I believe the money issue should not be influenced...you will give as much as you want....
Here's what I think: I will never pay that amount of money for somebody to do the job I could do after a little research period....It's not that I don't thing a resume specialist is not good...No way...on the contrary...but I think that's a little too much expense for a resume.....
You are probably experiencing a period of...emptyness....it happens...You've said it yourself that you have been quite successfull in the past.
Have a little look at the tips on how to write a resume on this site.....read them carefully, find other articles as well.. and try to see for yourself what's wrong with your resume....IF there is something wrong.

On the other hand....a complete make over of a resume should definitey happen....one day...but it's not necessary to pay this money for it...

Hi Anthony, the decision is entirely up to you, my answer may be a bit bias because l am a recruiter and also a CV / Resume Writer myself, but you must understand that what you are paying for, is the hassle, expertises and time to develop the Resume yourself, shop around for a cheaper service by all means, and if anyone says their service will take less than 3 days its more than likely they are not going to give your order the 100% attention and expertise it deserves.
