Hi,
Does please anyone know what I should be expecting from an 'Integrity' test at work? We are supposed to have one the next week and were only told that it will resemble the ones Boeing and AT&T have for their employees.
I work within a Purchasing Dept and was notified that should I pass the test I will be awarded an Integrity Certificate. On the other hand, if I fail, I will be assigned other work tasks, ones that will not include acquisitions.
Please tell me if there is a link or sth I could access to see what this kind of test looks like, I'm very confused. |

oohhhh...ok....let me tell you something about integrity tests. If you didnt know they test what your REAL relationship with work/company is.
Integrity tests may deal with:
- honesty - pure attitude towards stealing
- work ethics
- willingness to accept and follow directions
- also propensity towards violence, drug or alcohol use
I don't know the exact purpose or shape of the integrity test you are going to have, but here are a few examples of questions you may undergo:
1. You're a young lawyer who could lose your job if you don’t bill enough hours. All your colleagues are padding their hours. Do you pad yours?
2. Your next-door neighbor offers to hook you up with free cable television. Do you take the offer?
3. You’re an accountant who discovers that a company you're auditing is inflating its earnings. Your boss says to go along or you’ll be fired. Do you comply?
4. You move to a state where auto insurance is sky high. Do you keep your car registered at your old address?
Of course, the questions will have to be molded on the specific of your company. Basically they are two sides questions, and the answers will determine which side you are on (I.e. duty vs morality)
I'm sorry I don't have a link to give you but I'm sure a simple google search in which you write "ntegrity tests" will open your eyes. |

| If these are what I think they are, and what ank06 posted, then as you can see, the "right" answer will be REALLY obvious (is anyone ever actually really stupid enough to answer otherwise on these things???). |

Yes, questions in an integrity test may sound like the ones above. And yes, the answer may seem obvious but these are just examples. Usually, an integrity test is based upon situations inside a specific company (or related to it) and the answers become quire tricky so you still have to pay attentions....
Duty vs. morality....it's not an easy choice to make, is it? I mean what if you have a really really moral-based activity of the business....or a company for which duty is first thing first towards production? Amaterasu must make this decision before showing at the integrity test, right? |

Thanks everyone for your feed-back. The thing is I'm working within a Purchasing Dept and my guess is they are trying to figure out the employees' inclination towards stealing. From this point of view, I'm very relaxed, I don't fit the profile. What I'm worried about, though, is the way the questions are formulated. I am very sensitive to words and tend to understand ANY question in ANY test in a different way than others. And this time, my job is at stake, that is why I figured some sample questions would help me get in the mood and

As for the fact that they use sth similar at Boeing, i tend to infer they will test us with some complicated software??? |

OK, I got the point and I'm fine with it. These kind of questions I don't mind. And I don't mind specific questions either, like "Have you ever stolen anything from the department", 'cause it's crystal clear to me that I haven't. But what if they ask questions like: "have you ever done anything that interferes with our company's objectives ?" This is the kind of question I would never know how to answer because you have to think a lot and back for a long time and I will certainly become soooo confused that maybe this will be taken as a negative point on my part.
I know this because I always tend to think too much and to complicate everything and, if questions become too general, then this is not to my advantage. |
