Free Career and Job Search Advice

Maybe you have seen a lot of job posts, similar as following, at many websites.
For example: DATA ENTRY, 300-500 DOLLARS A WEEK.
If you contact to the employers, these employers will tell you that you need to send money for training materials or other materials. If you send them money, what you get is a 3 pages letter which tell you how to post an ad to get other people to give you money, FOR NOTHING! It is a huge scam.
Of course, not all data entry jobs are scam. However, beware all jobs that ask your money first!

) this is old news, but there are still people in the world hoping to earn a great bunch working from home. I have never fallen for something like this but I have received some "Offers" like that. In my mail, in my mail box, from some "old friends" (who probably lost their money and now wanted it back... Smile

) ).
As far as I'm concerned, there's no work from home data entry offer which isn't a scam. You say there are some companies which are serious. Boy, would I love to see one for myself!
If anyone has any idea of such a company, enlighten me too cause I'm really curious.

I learned this the hard way as well. I was actually looking for a data entry position at a business, not a work-from-home deal. However, the description I found sounded like it was a legitimate business conducted from your own home over the Internet. Little did I know it was a $25 scam, and that you made your "fortune" by getting other people to keep posting the same job advertisement. I still say it was $25 well spent because I learned to be more cautious of crap like that.

There are scams out there. I looked on the BBB at so many of the companies doing this type of work.

I found this Company. I signed up with them and I'm doing pretty well. I'm still learning but I'm getting the hang of it.

you would be much better off learning the skills required to become a virtual assistant and try those jobs that wont scam you and for which you dont have to pay to join either.

Data entry....there are real data entry jobs but these are not coming from "companies", individuals who ask for a fee before even starting the work. It's ridiculous to believe in such a thing!And it's true scams have developed and developed and the scammers have become more and more skilled. It's important to first be realistic and not expect a lot from a little and then to be clever enough to make a good pick. Like going freelancing on a specialized site.
