Sorry Ciprian, but these are dumb questions.
Everyone knows that the main reason for unemployment is that there are skills gaps between the unemployed and the jobs available. For example, 30 years ago agriculture and other primary industries hired milions of people who did not need formal qualifications and required little training. In the time since, the world has changed and people now need high levels of skills, education and abilities to fill the high tech jobs available. So, while we have millions unemployed, there are millions of vacant jobs because the skills required don't exist among the unemployed. This is one of the dilemmas of technology.
Employers fire people because they don't fit the organisational culture or they don't perform in the manner required. Sometimes they need to fire people because they are going bankrupt or are running out of money.
If you are unemployed, you don't have a job; if you are fired you don't have a job, however, you may have obtained experience in the job from which you were fired that will help you get another job. There is plenty of evidence that the longer you are unemployed, the more difficult it becomes to get a job. This is because employers think that if you haven't had a job in a long time, you are either not good material for employment or that you don't really want to work. |

that is opening a big can of worms!
maybe focus more on keeping a job, rather than reasons to get fired.
be on time, and work like a madman when you are there.dont date co workers
it goes on and on.your job should be about the work YOU provide the company and NOTHING else.and dont give them a reason to replace NOTHING with any activity you do that is not WORK. |

I was involved in the dismissal of a young fellow who sent pornographic materials to a number of women in the organisation for which I worked. As HR Manager I counselled him about the organisation's email and Internet use policy and told him if he did the same thing again he'd be sacked. Sure enough, a few weeks later he sent an inappopriate email to a married, female officer who complained. He got fired because he wasn't intelligent enough to get the message.
HR people (whatever you call our department) need to be involved to provide line managers and other staff managers with advice about the rights of individuals when facing dismissal and the legal aspects, especially in countries like Australia which has unfair dismissal legislation.
Once I advised a line manager that he did not have grounds to fire an employee. He didn't take my advice and got wound up in a two year legal case because of his stupidity. |

At this moment, in Romania, the reasons for the high level of unemployment are: lazyness, birocracy and corruption.
Lack of discipline, lack of experience, lying, the company going from large to medium, the company being bought by foreign inverstors, lazyness ( )
There is no better option in here. |

Boy, Ciprian13, you have such a negative opinion about your country ) I've read some other answers posted by you and for a Romanian you sure hate your country
I don't think things are THAT bad. Sure, there are bad apples in each and every country but it's not a good idea to generalize and apply everything wrong about a country to all its inhabitants. |

I've seen the most trivial reasons to be fired here in my state, and the most being for 'no reason at all.' I saw that a lot at the Dept store I was working at. One was you had to like country music to work there, or you were fired. Being from the South, though, that's not a surprise. |
