Sorry for the delay in reply. Your best shot for reliable part time work is the bigger employers, most of whom have good hiring schemes. It's worth your while to check out what's available with them first, because showing interest looks good, and you can get some first hand information about getting these better quality positions.
Another option, if you're interested, is the fast food chains. They give useful job training, and if the money's not too flash at your age, it pays off later, when you've got these portable job skills and can get better jobs. You can even get some management training, looks good on your CV later.
Getting jobs in the UK currently isn't easy, and you can use up a lot of time going for things and getting nowhere. The other reliable option is a temp agency, where you can do some admin work, and get another useful set of skills and good basic work experience. These jobs are usually much better quality than the casuals and average local part timers.
