Education
• 1988 – 1993 Bachelor degree of marine engineering.
From the “ Arab academy for science and technology and maritime transport”.

(Steam or motor ships class 1part A (1-2) of STCW code)
rank in class : the 2nd highest position.
• April 2007 oil Tanker endorsement
Experience

FSO Jerash (from 01/11/2007 to 09/05/2008 ) :
Its VLCC steam tanker, and considers the main crude oil tank for Jordan, The Previous name was T/T Berge Chief owned by Bergesen, then sold to Jordanian government around 2002, now Arab ship management manages it.
General info:
High-pressure boiler 64.5 bars.
Aux. Boiler 40 bars.
Low-pressure boiler 10 bars.
T/A Stal Laval.
D/G Bergen
COFFIN feed pumps.
Cargo pump (turbine driven, Stal Laval with atmospheric condenser).

My responsibilities:
• Operate and control Engine Room machineries such (main boiler, L.P. boiler,
I.G. plant, Feed pump, evaporators, cargo pumps, D. generators, turbo alternator,
Service air compressors, A/C and REF. compressors, pumps etc.).
• Monitor and control the steam plant pressures, levels and temperatures.
• Boiler water tests and chemical treatments.
• Burners' maintenance (HFO, DO burners).
• Responsible for Diesel generators and turbo alternator maintenance.
• Lub. oil tests for Diesel generators and turbines
Achievements:
1. Increasing the life time of boiler tubes, when I joined this vessel the boiler tubes started
To crack due to corrosion; as a direct result for the wrong chemical treatment (ineffective
Chemical and wrong dosage), I changed the used chemicals and corrected the dosage,
The result was no more cracks at the boiler.

2. Stopping the shutdown due to boiler tubes crack, while we shut down the plant three times at the first 2 weeks of my contract.

3. Increasing the lifetime of burner’s nozzles, the burner’s nozzles was completely damage after one-month use, again, due to wrong chemical selection and wrong dosage for the chem. Which
Was adding to the heavy fuel.

4. D/G maintenance, two units piston rings changed, Stopping the fuel oil leak at the D/G , HP connections changed, fuel injection pump change and overhaul, injectors changed, fuel cam timing readjusted, air distributor leak stopped , web deflection, tappet clearance, firing and compression pressures logs, Filters changed, Lo. Change ,, etc.

5. Increase the evap. Production and improve the distillate water quality.

6. Transfer the knowledge for the 3 duty engineers (forth engineers) and keeps the plant running safely without 2nd eng for 4 months under the supervision of chief eng who have 1-month experience at steam vessels, with assistance of another 3rd eng.
AHT seaways 10 (from 14/05/2007 to 20/08/2007) :

New anchor handling tug, ocean towing, built in 2005, owned by seaways int’l in UAE, Multinational crew, located at Angola.

My responsibilities:
• Watch keeper and operator for engine room machineries such
(Main engine, diesel generators, fresh water generator RO system,
Compressors, purifier, pumps, etc)
• Fuel Oil transfer.
• F.O. purifier ,generators, Air compressors,
Reverse osmosis system maintenance.

FPSO Sendje Ceiba (from 08/08/2006 to 21/02/2007 ) :
ITS VLCC STEAM TANKER, Was originally Esso Africa, then Sendje Berge owned by Bergesen
The tanker was converted to FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) at 2001 and now, owned by
HESS CORPRATION and crew staffing agent WOOD GROUP in USA (Multinational crew).

General info:

Propulsion: Stal Laval, 28 500 bhp @ 80 rpm
main Boiler: 63 bar
aux. Boiler: 17.5 bar
turbo generator, KKK: 4 MW,
turbo generator, Stal Laval: 1.9 MW,
diesel generator, Wartsila: 6 MW, 4.2 MW
Emergency generator, Cat: 1.8 MW,
Diesel generator, Pielstic: 1.2 MW,
COFFIN feed pumps.
Cargo pump (turbine driven, Shinko)

My responsibility:
• Watch keeper and operator for engine room machineries such
(cargo and ballast Pumps, I.G. plant, diesel and turbo generators,
HP water pump, fresh water generator RO, cathode protection, evaporators)
• water tests and chemicals treatment for the boilers, evaporators, RO,
main condenser, potable water tanks.
• Monitoring and control the systems through ABB and SAACKE boiler control
monitoring & automatic control system
• Daily, weekly and monthly routines as per the manuals and SAP work orders.
• RO system maintenance.
• Checking the safety trips for machineries

ADRIATIC QUEEN (from 10/07/2005 to 20/11/2005)

My responsibility:
• Watch keeper and operator for engine room machineries
Such (main engine, diesel generators, purifier, pumps, etc.).
• Exhaust valve maintenance.
• Injectors’ maintenance.

Abu Egila & Alexandria (from 17/07/2004 to 27/01/2005) :

Two sister vessels owned by Egyptian navigation co., at this period, my rank was 5th eng but I was working as 3rd eng
With full duties because of the BSC. Degree of Engineering, under the supervision of 2nd eng.

Abu Egila Air starting valves, Fuel pumps, Injectors and coolers maintenance.
Alexandria participated for a complete overhaul for this ship.
From 1993 till 2003
At this period, I was working as a sales engineer, supervisor, manager, and consultant, for 3 multinational companies In Egypt working in different fields (projects, generators, industrial supplies & raw materials).
By the end of 2003, I decided to change my career due to the high commitments and the economical situation in Egypt.
I joined many courses at quality control, communication skills, sales strategies, and management courses.
