Hi - Im applying for to do Primary School teaching (in Ireland) and I would like to have more experience in dealing with children and so Im applying for some Special Needs Assistant jobs in schools to rectify this. Any advice - I feel thjat I am underqualified as I dont have much experience with those with Special needs....

I'm wondering if maybe you should consider getting a job in your field and then doing some volunteer work so that you can get the special education experience that you want so badly. I know that in the USA it's difficult to get into special education unless you have a lot of experience. I don't know if it's the same in the UK but if it is then you may really want to consider the idea of doing volunteer work.
