Hi! I want to share with this forum my experience I had with at least five job agencies with which I was enrolled. As soon as I enroll I am assured that I will get a job within a few days. The days then stretch into weeks and then into months.
I have not heard from any of the FIVE job agencies that I have enrolled with. My friends tell me that all the agencies work for the employer since they get the larger share of the fees from them; in the process the applicants are left to their luck.
I did not believe this before, but my present situation really points in that direction. What can I do to improve my chances? I need a job very fast and I do not what to do.
Can anyone tell me what to do? |

It is true that most of the agency work for the employer; however it is also in their interest to place you where your capabilities match their requirement perfectly. Their reputation and in fact the whole business depends on whether (i) you will really match their requirements, (ii) and time period you will stay with that organization.
I would advise you to enroll in as many agencies you find feasible for you; but do not leave it at that. Keep following up with the job agencies, while at the same continue to send application directly wherever you think that you could be favorably considered.
Do not loose heart because it takes time to get a job. This is expected. |

| Sign up with as many agencies as you can. Actually your success will depend on numbers. The more places you will apply the better are your chances to get a job. Also make sure you keep the agencies on their toes with telephone calls and enquiries at regular intervals. I am sure you will land a job soon. |

| Apply directly to the company while you wait for the agency to get you an interview. Also you could look up part time jobs in the meantime, so you can get a foothold in a job. Keep your options open by networking in your neighborhood and with everyone you know. Some of he best jobs come through networking. |

A successful job search requires planning and preparation. During your job search, apply for jobs through all job search methods.
So apply through the hidden job market, the internet, direct job advertisements, networking, job fairs, recruiters & employment agencies.
Do not rely on only one method in your job search. |

| An agency should only be a small part of your job search campaign. The agencies don't go looking for jobs for you, they go looking for candidates to fill jobs that are open. If you match what they're looking for, you get a call and if you don't, you'll never hear another word from them. Nature of the beast. |
