The question is describe a situation where you helped to improve the performance of a team?

I have been asked this question in twice of my interviewers and tend to struggle on it. Are there any situations, where you think you have been involved in to answer this question?

This question is seeking a response as to how you worked as part of a team, not necessarily leading it.

For example if you controlled the lights in a big west end production you wouls state how well you did it and how your lights helped to make the overall production a massive success.

To make it easier for you I would suggest that you always use the STAR format of answering questions as this will ensure the answer is as full as possible. Situation - talk about the overall picture, Task - talk about what was required to be done, Action - talk about what you did and then Result - talk about the positive result.

This behavioral interview question is looking at your ability to build relationships and contribute to team success. Show how you worked effectively with the team, put team goals ahead of your own goals and made a valued contribution to the team output.
