Hi,

Please HELP!! Future career in shambles???I am 20 years old from India. I failed in my final year of engineering even though I had studied hard for it. I have always dreamed of being an engineer. Now my dreams have all been shattered. I think that others are better than me and I won’t get what I want.

Please advice me how I can fulfill my dream of becoming an engineer.

Leroy

leroy-

It's not the end of the world, although it probably feels like it.

A few options:

1. What does your present level of education qualify you for?

2. You could do the final year again, somewhere else.

3. From what I hear of engineering work in India, it's ultra-competitive, and some of the colleges are a bit aggressive. It might be them, not you.

4. Don't talk yourself out of your dream.

5. At your age, you've got a lot to do. There are always setbacks, disappointments, irritations.

Give yourself a chance.

6. From the sound of it, it wasn't lack of trying. Are you sure you were properly graded? Remember, errors can happen on both sides. You might want to check with your examination board, or your tutors. If there was a mistake, they'll know what to do about it.

You sound to me like you made an honest effort, and your own study would have been honest. In which case, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

Give it another shot, and follow up on the points above.

Good luck

I am with Paul: do your final year over and studyc arefully at another school. You will probably do better the second time around, and at least now you will have an expectation in this next school year of what the upcoming year will be like. I hope it works out for you!

I hope you do not consider that if you have failed with your last year of engineering education your dreams are finished with. So many people fail in the last year on college or uni from various reasons. There is always the possibility of taking the year once more. No shame in it, on the contrary, you should be extremely motivated now and aware of what to expect from courses and exams. Don't even think about giving this up, especially that you really want to work in the domain!

Go back! Focus more! Be more determined! Just follow your dream!

In the meantime, you should start ensuring your career success while studying
