I have been in the business of selling for the electronic industry for 5 years now. I had to move to another state because of family issues. I'm used to making 60 - 70k with benefits. So I had to leave this job because I had to move.

I had gotten offered a sales job making $2,000 a month with no benefits. Should I take this job or wait and see if something better comes along?

If your financial situation allows you to do so, keep looking for a better job. If you beleive the market situation in your new area offer better opportunites keep looking.

Are you looking for jobs in the worng places?

It sounds that you had a very good job and you are qualified, look for jobs in better areas/companies/recruiters.

I agree with site admin. Also, As you know a sales job relies on your contacts & network, and as you are in a new area you'd need to start from scratch with contacts & network. So, I'd look for either a national sales job, based in your new area, but utilizing your old contacts. If this is not possible, look for a job where you can build your contacts as quickly as possible. Another option is a job where you will be handling existing accounts/ customers.

I would always take any decent offer if I still had the chance to keep looking for better opportunities. If you foresee that you'll have the energy and time to find a better job while you're working, the answer, to me, is a no-brainer.
