Hi Mario
Between a good CVv and a good resume there is very little difference. They both make an excellent case for the candidate over about 2 pages, with a strong introduction of professional assets and a vivid description of experience. The Resume for N. America leaves out some personal details that are normal in a CV for the rest of the world. That's it.
A bad Resume (one of those shocking one page scream in your face horrors) and a bad CV (many pages of boring drivel) are not at all alike.
But then you would never use a bad one of either, I hope.

Hi cvsage,
Thanks for the excellent contributions !!!
A lot of CVs mostly for technical people run into the 10's of pages describing in detail tehnical aspects of thier jobs.
For Example
Project X
Used sKILL a + description of the way the skill was used
Used sKILL b + description of the way the skill was used
Used sKILL c + description of the way the skill was used
One job could span 10 or more projects.
In technical jobs it is important to sepcify the details of yuor skills and the way you applied them.
If you have programmed in C++ what parts of C++ did you use etc...
Would this be a case for a detailed CV and a short CV ?
Regards
Carl |
