I applied for unemployment after resigning from a job that I had been on short term disability (back surgery) for 90 days I told them I was going to pursue employment where I would not need to be on my feet all day, as I had been. I applied and it was revoked. I have not called my ex employer, just my resignation by mail. Here's the kicker..When I first started this job I was physically abused..a coworker (female)..I'm a male btw..grabbed my arm and pushed me and told me to get to my own side of the sales floor. This was a week after I was twice purposely tripped by another coworker (female) because she was mad because I was having a lucrative sales day. I caught myself on the counter so I did not fall. I let the tripping incident slide until the second sales person grabbed and pushed me. (I bruised and took pics). I first went to loss prevention then hr dismissed it with a warning to them. I am afraid of the hostile environment and do not feel safe there. I feel if a man did this to a woman at work he would be fired and possibly sued...

sorry this is so long..
should I speak to an attorney?

Thank you,
God Bless

I think you are right..if genders were reversed, someone would be attempting a lawsuit right now. That does not mean that you do not have grounds for trying one, as your employer was negligent in addressing what was an obvious issue and misconduct on the part of a few employees. Gender is not the real issue here so much as the treatment these ladies dished out and HR did nothing to reprimand them for. Find a good attorney.

I appreciate hearing an outside view. My disability ran out 2 weeks ago. It won't hurt me to talk to someone.
