My father recently had a hearing for his appeal for the denial of his unemployment benefits. The employer showed up with legal representation but did not have the paper work he needed for the case. The judge stated that they would reschedule the hearing because of this. Shouldn't that have been automatically ruled in my fathers favor because the other party was not properly prepared?

Perhaps you ought take it up with your solicitor! They're likely to know best.

Yeah I think you are right but that's the bad thing about some cases like that, when the other side doesn't bring full documents and their stuff. I suggest you just keep on doing what you guys need to do and show up on the next hearing.

Man, what a bummer. It must be such a hassle to have to go to another hearing, but what can you do. Has the second hearing taken place already? If so, how did it go?
