I'm 18, graduated high school last year, my grades.. not so good. But that's just because nothing interested me in high school. I went to a small school, with not many class choices, so in most I wasn't interested and just didn't try as hard as I could of. Foolish.. I know. Anyways, my problem now is choosing what I want to do..now that I'm done school. I don't know if I want to go back to school or not, simply because I can't find any careers that really interest me.. What I'm looking for in a career is :

Travel - > I love traveling, learning about new culture, new food, new people, new environment.

Learning/ Discovery - > I want to learn while I'm working. I don't want to be doing the same thing over and over, I want it to continuesly be moving forward, a learning process.

Not repetative - > Hate doing the same thing over and over again.

Music - > A career that involves music would be great.. but I can't play any intruments well enough to become a musician.

Outdoors - > I'd love to be able to work outdoors. Love animals.

These are my main intersts when I'm looking for a career, but I can't match a career with them.. so if you have any career suggestions that come to mind when you see some of my intrests please share them!

I highly suggest that you pursue a university education, because that gives you a much stronger base for employment later.

You can combine higher education with summer work that you like.

Travel and outdoors go together, obviously. Careers along these lines could include tour guides, safari guides, etc. Foreign language skills will help in this regard, and universities often offer exchange/study abroad programs.

If you want to work in music but not be a musician, you could be a concert promoter or an instrument technician for touring bands, or learn production/recording and work as a sound engineer.

Hope that gets some ideas flowing!
