I would like to share with you my experience of a bossy co-worker.

I got the office supervisor to crate some office procedures we could follow.
I informed the office manager of the situation
I tried to make her understand the my work and my time is not her responsibility

But still this colleague goes on and tries to be bossy. I think such people are born like this and will not change.......

to be continued

So what's actually happening?

Who's being bossy and what kind of work relationship does she have to you?

Why did you need your supervisor to create some procedures?

What did you inform your manager of? The procedures or the situation that had arisen between you and your co-worker?

In what way is she bossy?

The thing with Jane is that she is just a simple secretary like me and she cannot admit it. I think that she tries to give the impression of an office manager rather than a secretary..... cannot figure out why they will never increase her pay or give her a pat on the back for what she is doing. The only thing is I get worried about this at home and I never let work and home mix !!!

She gives orders about in which order we do our work.... this is her main "bossy mode "

I tired to make the boss, issue procedure on which work to do first, she always manages ot find an exception to the rule.

How can I stop thinking abou this problem at home ?

I'd be more than happy to again be declared a Secretary - I do not think you should feel that you are "JUST" a secretary or that you two are "JUST SIMPLE" secretaries. You are better than a "JUST" or a "SIMPLE" good grief where is your courage! You are you and she is what she is. These sorts of issues happen at every office, there is always someone hard to get used to, or someone that controls everything.

I need more information here....

Were you trying to get the boss/supervisor to get some things so you could have a better idea on job procedures as far as what to do first, what to do next, what to do last? In other words, PRIORITIES?? And so this person doesn't agree with you and what you did? WHY?? Because you went OVER HER HEAD!! You can't do that!! Good grief!! Did you go over your Manager's head??? Oh yeah, she's just a simple secretary. Well if you want to stay a simple secretary, go right ahead. I don't want to be a simple secretary. I was not ever a simple secretary. I thought more highly of myself than that. And you should too. You should feel you are valuable and an important employee/worker there at the "office." You should feel good about yourself. You should continue to be dedicated and loyal to your office and your company where you are working.

How do you prevent it from creating difficulties at home? GOOD LUCK I don't think that will ever be stopped!! That is simply a part of life.
