Hi All,
I thought to narrate my situation to see if i get the right idea to move forward in life .
I am working in a Software company in Usa for the past two years.
I am also married with a kid of 4 yrs.
Life has never been so frustrated as it seems now, bored of mundane life, coding inside my cubicle for hours everyday.
All i want is a good schooling life for my kid ,and the way school district rankings and associated cost of owning a property or renting goes,i feel frustrated.
If i choose one year mba from a top b school in US, i need to study some undergraduate business courses (will take another two years if done part time),take a loan of $100,000 for Mba( I can get loan without co-signor),and spend another 5 years (if i get a job ) in releiving myself of debt.
Not sure if i get the job i want in this recession times.
If I do one year mba from Outside Usa,i will not be able to get loan ,wont get US job ,may end up working in Nigeria .
So friends,my sincere request is to please put yourself in my shoes and advice whether i should pursue mba from Usa,Europe, Canada or India?
Cons of USA: Green card takes forever,Getting Job Dicey,Visa Restrictions
Pros of Canada:Fast Citizenship,Good Healthcare
Cons:No global school,Job situation not so clear
Cons of Europe: Getting loan,Job in UK very tough ,no english speaking country except Uk.

Crying or Very sad Your advice can make my wandering ,meandering soul find some meaning and direction.[img][/img]

Let's start from the beginning:

What's the specific object of the MBA?
Obviously business in some form, or management, but what?
What are your career goals?
Do you have a definite target, like running your own business?

This has all the signs of being a pretty expensive digression, if you don't nail down a criteria for success. Looks to me like you need some conceptual structure here, before you do anything.

Working in a cubicle can be a very dreary, uninspiring way of life. I've done it, and won't be doing it again. It's not a positive move to exchange it for career and financial hide and seek, though, particularly not now.

Working through your post, comments in italics:

This is enough money to crash the budget, if anything goes wrong. It's also a lot of time and effort. Depending on your ultimate objective, you may be able to do this differently, with less risk.

Matter of interest: One year MBA? Do you mean a compressed course? Do you have the required management experience to do an MBA?

Important: If you're talking about online, forget it, and keep forgetting it. Get your degrees from an accredited college, make sure it's industry and internationally recognized, and don't even pay for the electricity for anything else.

Not sure if i get the job i want in this recession times.

Good point, and it's an obvious minefield to avoid. If you're not sure, don't make any moves in this direction. You can look, but make sure you've got a lifeboat before you jump ship.

If I do one year mba from Outside Usa,i will not be able to get loan ,wont get US job ,may end up working in Nigeria .

You've got better things to do with your life than watch oil pipelines blow up. So has your family. Forget Nigeria.

So friends,my sincere request is to please put yourself in my shoes and advice whether i should pursue mba from Usa,Europe, Canada or India?

You left out Australia. We can do MBAs too, and in terms of quality of life, it'd be us or Canada.

Cons of USA: Green card takes forever,Getting Job Dicey,Visa Restrictions

You might do better, or at least quicker, going for citizenship or residency. Green card is socked in because of the jobs situation.

Pros of Canada:Fast Citizenship,Good Healthcare
Cons:No global school,Job situation not so clear

Don't know about global school, they're pretty much up to date in education, unless you've got something special in mind. I do some work for a Canadian site, and have some Canadian friends. Job situation's pretty patchy, but occasional opportunities do show up.

Cons of Europe: Getting loan,Job in UK very tough ,no english speaking country except Uk.

Forget UK, as many British job seekers are doing. Too tough.

You didn't come up with pros and cons for India, but it's also very difficult, and you'd be competing with a subcontinent full of IT workers. I'd give that one a miss.

I could be more helpful if I knew what your goals are, but I hope that's some use to you.
