I'm in USA - Tennessee

I'm 34 and have a BA in history. I've been in public sector work for 10 years now - USPS. I'd like to get into the private sector and perhaps an MBA. Is it best to get a general concentration MBA? Is the MBA market any good now? I haven't got much managerial experience though. I've heard accounting and Info. systems are the in-demand concentrations. Are there any good IT jobs that don't require the extensive certifications every month? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you
