am worried about tips on what is the right protocol to apply a job in the same department. Where I am working a managerial position had been opened and I feel I am excellent for it. I want my application to stand out not only from the point of neatness but also the presentation. I was wondering whether I am doing right. Am I?

The job application rules apply, even though it may be that you are applying in the same company. And yes you are doing right to want to show that you are the ideal candidate for the job.

You should not slack off just because you are already working in the company. Instead this should be the motivation you need to write your cover letter to the best of your ability.

Remember that you are not the only one that feels that they are the ideal candidate. Instead you need to prove through your cover letter that you can handle the job.

Good luck and I hope this helps

All of the same rules apply to obtaining new positions within the same company. If they ask for your resume, provide the best resume you can create. If they want you to take a variety of tests, then take each one and smile through them all. Smile If you are asked to interview with a half dozen people, then make sure you meet with each one.

It's great to know that you are prepared to move on to another position. Congratulations on that!

I agree, same rules apply for internal posts as external, the ability to demonstrate your existing experience with this company should put you steps ahead...

Hi there,

so....the rules of this job aplications are the same (or shpuld be), but you will probably be asked also about your resons, taking into account that you are already working in that company.

If you believe the job fits you and you feel confident about it, there is no reason for which you shouldn't apply. And listen....if you are working for quite a long time in there and if you have a close or closer relationship with the boss (I mean he trusts you and he appreciates your qualities), then I truly blieve you might have an advantage if you apply for the job.

So try it.
