I woundered if someone could give me advice regarding CV writing to potencial employer in the UK! What should I bare in mind, what are the most inportant points, the main differences between US-CV and UK-CV. I also took a year break in my career for Child Care. How does it affect my chances in the job search!

Thanks in advance!

I am US, so I am not too sure about UK rules. Have you clicked on the CV tab at the top of the forum?

This might help you with the Europass format CV. Hope this is helpful.

Contrary to popular belief, there isn't too much difference between the content in a CV and resume. The only, real difference is that a CV tends to have slightly more details.

In your CV, you're going to need the following:
Personal details, (name, address, contact numbers, etc.)
A brief introductory paragraph, (often referred to as a profile). This should be around 4-7 lines in length and should highlight your key "selling points"
Details of your employment in reverse-chronological order (most recent first), distinguishing between responsibilities and achievements
Details of any recent and relevant academic achievements / professional development courses

With regards to hobbies - only include these if they specifically relate to the job / industry you're interested in...in your case, child care.

Finally, you mentioned you took a year out of child care. What did you do during this period?
