i didn't get the job I went for on the 19th April, but I got some good feedback from the employer.
He said it wasn't that i was not motivated or enthusiastic, it was just stiff competition - the rest of the candidates had higher qualifications than myself.
What amazes me is that the places I am trying to get into are Training Providers - and they of all people should be giving people a chance to gain employment.
That job would have really given me the boost I needed after being unempoyed for over a year and I could have helped a lot of people in return.
If Training Providers are not willing to give people like myself a chance there isn't much hope for the people in there actually being trained is there?
Anyway I have another interview tomorrow at 9.30 for (another Training Provider) I will report back findings and feedback later on tomorrow.
They havent got the better of me yet! That's for sure! |

Thanks Lostash
If I am not successful this time I will stop looking for the time being until I get the right qualifications by going to College, that way they cannot say I didn't fit into the higher category.
I love studying anyways so I am looking forward to it very much, but we will see what happens.
If I can do the job I want then it will be all well worth the studying.
Good luck to you with your job search too and if I can help you I will.

See I really like your signature phrase. This means you only think positive, which is good. The fact that you didn't get the first job is nothing, believe me. When you're a job seeker you'd better take any refusal as a step towards something better. It is not necessarily because you have less qualifications than others, but this is important as well and you should definitely take care of this part.
However, you shouldn't leave job hunting aside, just because you're going to college. There's always the part time option or project based option. You can gain experience while in college. So you can do two things at a time.
Good luck for the future and I can't wait to hear how this nterview went as well. Fingers crosseddddd |

Hi Safri
I went for my 4th interview today. It didn't go too badly but they did say i didn't fit into any category - dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing lol, but I don't think they will forget me in a hurry
The Chairman said I was an interesting case? He kept me in the baordroom for over an hour grilling me like a pork sausage, but I kept firing answers back which led on to further questions and then I had a few questions of my own
I am feeling a lot better now about the job - even if I don't get it i can study and finally get the qualifications needed so they cant knock me back - and boy will I!
I am so positive and enthusiastic that no employer will ever get me down.
I know my weaknesses but I also know my strengths and any interview as far as I am concerned is good experience, as you can take the things that were said from one interview to the next, nothing is ever wasted.
I am still enjoying my studying and I will get that job I want if it kills the employer LOL which it probably will do!!
I took this interview in my stride today and if I don't get it then I know something better will be around that corner and I will find it.
They are not bringing me down ever!
Good luck to everyone with their job search.
Will let you know the outcome next week |

A kick in the toosh is a step forward my grandfather always says. I like people who never abbandon searching a job. It is natural that one loses opportunities and jobs and maybe money and whatever. If you think that there are so many people searching for those enumerated. Not everybody can win, right? We must go to the next level in order to go up.
Anyway, I am quite positive myself. Get a little frustrated, but you are right. If you know your value and you know you can do something without a problem, you know you will get it eventually.
I shall wish everybody good luck as well |

Hi Dorothea
I can't say it doesn't get frustrating because it does, but it does make me more determined to prove the people who did not take me on that I am capable of doing a certain job.
Once I get my qualification then the world is my oyster but I am enjoying the studying so far and I still have to wait until next week to hear about the other job, so all is not lost.
You cannot be negative in a situation like this as a tutor helping unemployed people - you cannot get negative whatsoever, it would be against principals but for me personally it makes me more determined than ever
Good luck to all in their search for work |
