Hi, I have an interview on Thursday for a job I desperately want, it's an apprenticip in engineering, I know basically what it is but I need to know what I'm talking about so I can explain if they ask me why I want to job etc.

If anyone could give me any good information on being an instrument & maintainance technician (tiffy) it'd be a massive help.

Cheer's in advance.

The main point about this interview is why you want to be an apprentice.

It's a major commitment, but it's also a very good career, and a great career move, if it's really what you want to do.

You're not expected to be an expert, but they need to see that you're motivated, know where you want to go, and have some basic knowledge.

Technician jobs are for experts. Their knowledge base is extremely broad, they know their fields inside and out.

The training this apprenticeship can provide, and the kind of skills it can give you, you just wouldn't believe.

This is the link to most of what you need to know:

http://www.workforcedevelopment.com/electrical/electronics.html

The article talks about after the apprenticeship, the links you need are on the left. Trace the apprenticeship back to the start, using the links. Bookmark the page as a reference, because it's a good source for this stuff.

This site will also give you a very good overview of what you're getting into. There's a lot of material there for your interview.

Good luck
