I've just spent a good 15 minutes compiling a response to a post where a woman was asking about working on chat lines. Now I can't find the post. Where's it gone? Have the administration removed it? If so, why?

Chat lines are perfectly legal in the UK so surely, by removing that particular thread, you're discriminating against those who choose to work in an industry that is, although legal, not in keeping with your preferences, perhaps?

How terribly disappointing!

Iona (ex chat line operator and proud of it!)

Forums such as this one are perfectly legal in the USA. It is up to the owner of the forum and to their delegated moderators or other workers to edit or watch member's postings.

I do need a bit more info here, I mean was your post edited? I think you said it was gone. Did the owner/moderator email you first and explain what they were doing? Did the owner/moderator email you with any written warnings of posting things they do not appreciate?

Posts can indeed be edited, but rarely I'd say if ever completely removed.

I didn't realise it had been moved. Sorry.

7days - who are you? Do you own this site? I thought CV owned it being as he/she moved it? Confusing.

Forums such as this are legal anywhere aren't they? It wasn't the forum I was talking about, it was chat lines. They're legal so I thought it was strange that the thread had been deleted but it hasn't so it doesn't matter.

If you're looking for one of your own posts, you can do one of these two things:

1: use the "search" link at the top of this screen, and in the second search box, enter your own screen name.

or

2: find any one of your own posts, and on the left, just below where it shows the date you joined, click on the link where it show your total number of posts.

Although I agree that a site owner/moderator may delete a post that don't respect the site policy I think it's compeltely not fair to edit it and alter what the poster wanted to say.
