Tomorrow kicks off International Update Your Resume Month!

Whether new to the work force, looking for a career change, in college or between jobs, it's important to keep your resume fresh and on hand.

Here is a selection of articles that will help you create your interview-winning resume.

Volunteer Your Way to a Better CV: Are you lacking competitive work experience? This article explains how volunteering can lead to a better resume, vital job contacts and potentially even a job offer.

What to Do if You Don't Have References: Do you draw a blank when asked to provide work references? Don't leave this section incomplete! This article explains just what to do--you may already have more references than you think.

Resume Action Verbs: Alright, this one isn't quite an article. "Action verbs" refer to verbs like analyze, build, create, complete, write, organize, report. Incorporate them into your resume, and you'll catch the reader's attention and stand out as a stronger candidate. Compare these two bullet points for a sample grocery worker: "was in charge of 3 people and stocking produce" versus "Managed 3 employees and stocked produce carefully and efficiently."

Holes in Your Resume: Gaps in employment are common but you should address long gaps of unemployment in your resume so the employer doesn't start wondering if you've been in prison. This covers just how to address those gaps and how to highlight those gaps as periods of training that can actually work out to your advantage.
