I am thinking of getting some extra income while I am unemployed and become a personal shopper. I have a big circle of friends and they always compliment me on my wardrope skills !!! However I do not know what to charge these what are the Fees for Personal Shoppers. I would like some info on this. Fees for Personal Shoppers are they by the hour or are they a percentage of what is spent. I am a shopping maniac and this is really the ideal job for me.

My ideal job is a clothes designer but since that door seems not to be open yet i have to be creative and re think my career.

This was my idea for Fees for Personal Shopping (clothes) :

Basic Charge : $20
Specific Object : $20
General idea but general style : $50 for top and one bottom

I reckon these are too low but I am going to start like this and with experience I would increase my prices.

I was thinking that if I always buy from specific shops I coud get a good commission. This would be a good additiio to my Fees for Personal Shopping.

If you any experience in this please do post! I do not want to be too cheap

Smile

James,

I am also thinking of starting a personal shopping business. Though I am thinking more along the lines of grocery shopping, errand running, waiting for the repair man to come and gift shopping, etc. I am a single mother to 2 and want a career that I can work around them with! Plus I love to grocery shop/run errands so it seems perfect for me! I found this site... goferu.citysoup.ca that is a couple personal shoppers. Their pricing is listed on the site. I hope that helps some! Good Luck!
