Great tips. I recommend that anyone working from home try to make money selling a service (like you mentioned in your post). I work from home doing freelance writing and I have done so for almost four years now. I left my job in retail management to spend more time with my daughter who was just under a year at the time.

Selling a service online is easier because you are likely to run into less scams when trying to find a work-at-home job. There are a number of ways that I am make online through writing: there are some websites that pay you for your articles or you get payments through page views; I have a website and a few blogs setup with Google Adsense and affiliate ads; I use bidding websites to bid on projects and I have gotten a few long-term clients through those methods.

I do writing, but the same approach can be used for those who are familiar with graphic design, web design, and so forth.
