My name is Julie and I live in Ham Lake, MN. I was just laid off for the second time in 6 months. Last time I got a pretty good severance package but not this time. Tomorrow is my last day and I'll be applying for unemployment on Monday. I've been a chemist in the pharmaceutical industry for 8 years now. I'm thinking a change would be nice. I have a degree in zoology so it can be hard to just get an interview even though I can do everything a person with a chemistry degree can. It's kind of depressing getting laid off again. At least it's summer and I can try to enjoy some nice weather.

I didn't like this job but at least it paid the bills.

Julie

Try to not be discouraged. The economy is just terrible right now and a lot of people are in the same situation as yourself, not because they are bad people or have done anything wrong. The only way to do it is to get out there and start looking, and keep your head held high. Be persistent and try hard to not get discouraged. Wink
