I checked this site out. It looks like a startup, not a lot of info, but the idea deserves a comment or so.
1.This is a paid service.
2. You pay $19.99 for the information as dtred01describes it. It's not specified if this is a one off payment. It looks like it's a one off payment, and if so it's a basic price range.
3. The site refers to "further purchases", but it's not clear what else you can purchase from this site.
4. The example resumes include something you should never put online, contact addresses like phone and street numbers. Asking for ID problems.
5. The basic idea of linking to other sites is OK, but linking to what? Why not put it on your own web page? If you're a person with a lot of sites, it makes sense, but would you need another site, particularly one you have to pay to use?
6. This sort of online resume is mainly useful as an easy to send link to your resume, OK for including in emails, but you'd need a specific use for something like this.
In fairness- There is a positive side to this idea. If you don't have a site, and you want to put together something more elaborate and better presented than a paper resume, this might help. Web pages are easy to edit, and easier to update. Paper does have limitations. You can do a pretty good presentation online, and anyway, you can print out your web stuff if you need to do that.
Doesn't seem to be any complaints about this service that I could find. CV Tips can't endorse products or services. We can say the idea might have some merits for some people. Just remember it's your money, and the value of any service is what it delivers for you. |
