I do not know much about you, but I have heard that being a full-time parent hones many transferable skills such as budgetting, arbitration, listening, mentoring and shaping.
On the issue of specific skills, you might consider university. It takes from 4 years to go from having no significant education to being a graduate; or longer if you go part-time; or less if you hold A Levels. What they term Year 0/Foundation is intended for people without A Levels.
On the issue of experience, you might consider volunteer work. Some examples can involve training that might be sought by paying employers. Examples include case work, advocacy, administrative skills. However, the key to success is knowing when to quit - you want to take the training and get out. Note that they will try to make you stay with unfaithful promises of a paid future.
If it helps any, I know of a lady who took 15 years out, and is now a senior solicitor making the rounds in very respectable firms. |
