Being around people can help ease the shyness that you suffer from, but also consider taking some public speaking classes. This can force you to get over your fear. As for what careers are open to you, there really are no limits. It depends on what you like to do the most. Fine arts/art history can lead you to working in a museum. Playing with type and graphics can lead you to advertising or working for a magazine. If you like photos and video production, you could work doing television or in journalism. Even medical, you could be the person who helps draw diagrams or document medical procedures. Decide what you like and don't like first, then see what your likes can do to lead you to a great career!
